Life in al-barzakh

I had always been unsure as to what would happen to us or rather our souls after we die even though I've heard many stories from reliable sources. I thought I should put an end to this doubt immediately. I bought a book Life in al-barzakh, the third in four series of The Inevitable Journey by Muhammad Mustafa al-Jibaly. A page-turner. No regrets.

The book details the journey of the soul right after death befalls a man. It also tells about how a man who is in the last moments of his death would feel. Depending on his deeds, a man would either yearn to be dead or would dread it. A true believer would embrace that moment as his soul is being taken by the angel of death. He would be happy to meet Allah as much as Allah is happy to meet him. He would be happy to leave his worldly life. A disbeliever would dread his death and wished he would be given just one more chance to make things good with Allah. He would be unhappy to leave his worldly life as he knows what is in store for him in the hell-fire. Well of course like crying over spilled milk.

The soul's journey then begins. First knocking on the door of the first of the seven heavens (knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door... Love that song!), then being brought back to earth for the burial, and then the punishments in the grave until the day of resurrection.

This book would get you absorbed in its world and take your mind off everything else. No, you wouldn't wanna put it down.

Very satisfied with what I read and the knowledge I gained, I was very happy to share what I've learned with the girls. Today we talked over dinner and after. Insyirah has got lots of questions. Some of which I could answer, and some needs to be deferred until further reading :D Omera got emotional about the death part. As usual Emo Ome. Lol. She understands everyone would die one day. It's the separation part that she has difficulty with. So I comforted her and cracked silly jokes so she cheered up.

Yup. Get this book. Read it.

I'm still hungry for details. Need to know events during the day of resurrection and of course our 'paycheck'! Hehe. So my next one is Book of the End by the renowned author Ibn Katheer!

My reads are updated regularly in goodreads.com.

Insyirah's audition - Knockout: All stars

Ok. Insyirah was invited to an audition for a game show, Knockout: All stars, by Hoods Inc Productions currently broadcasting on Okto Channel every Monday at 8.30pm. The Mommy is excited!! The daughter, as usual acted cool :D I took half day yesterday to send her for the audition at 4pm. It went well. After the audition, she got all excited! See! What did I tell you?? She was asked to sing and dance and acted a few lines, and draw a self-portrait. Apparently, the drawing would be used for the hosts to select their team mates. Shaikh Haikel and Gurmit Singh are the hosts of the show. Let's see. I hope she gets selected. Good for her for a start. Go go go!!!
